President Zardari, First Lady get warm welcome upon arrival in Bahrain

President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari were accorded warm welcome upon arrival in Bahrain on a four-day official visit.

Pakistan’s President, Asif Ali Zardari, on Tuesday landed at Manama, the Bahrainian capital, as part of a four-day visit.

In a post on X, the Presidency reported that President Zardari received a warm reception from the Commander of the National Guard of Bahrain Sheikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bahrain Sheikh Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani on his arrival.

A video that was shared along with the posting revealed that the First Lady, Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari, is also accompanying the president on the visit.

“According to the Foreign Office, the president will take part in meetings with the king of Bahrain, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, as well as the crown prince of Bahrain and the prime minister, Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, during his visit,” the publication reported.

The Foreign official said: ‘The discussions would revolve around bilateral, regional, and international matters of mutual interest.’

“The visit aims at reiterating and reinforcing Pakistan's long-standing co-operation with the fraternal Gulf state, in addition to exploring new areas for co-operation, including more opportunities for co-operation in the fields of trade and economic partnerships, defense and security, and people-to-people engagement,” it added.
