Sanam Javed, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist and prominent social media influencer, along with her husband, was arrested by Punjab police in Lahore on Monday.
The couple was taken into custody from Green Town in connection with the violent events that erupted on May 9, 2025.
According to police officials, they are facing charges linked to arson, vandalism, and other acts of violence reported during the nationwide protests on that day. Both have been booked under terrorism-related laws.
Their arrest is part of a broader crackdown targeting individuals accused of involvement in the widespread unrest that followed political turmoil, leading to clashes and significant property damage across multiple cities.

Sanam Javed, recognized for her strong presence in PTI’s digital campaigns, has been a vocal supporter of the party's policies and initiatives.
Recently, an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi cancelled the interim bail of 16 PTI leaders and workers, including Sanam Javed, in a separate case related to protests held on November 26.
During the bail hearing, Judge Amjad Ali Shah was informed by Prosecutor Zaheer Shah that the accused had repeatedly failed to appear in court over the past four months, allegedly misusing the court’s leniency and obstructing the investigation process.
