Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) affiliated independent candidates have taken the lead in 99 of the 265 National Assembly seats, posing a challenge to their rival, the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), in forming the government at the center.

PTI leader Barrister Gohar claimed of winning over 150 NA seats, however, official results are yet to be announced.

The provisional results available on the website of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) show PTI-backed independents currently leading in 99 seats.

PML-N has secured 71 seats so far in the lower house of the parliament, while the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has won 53 seats.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has secured 17 seats, followed by the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) with 3. The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) each won 2 seats, while Majlis Wahdat al-Muslimeen (MWM) won 1 seat.

PTI-backed independent candidates have secured a significant number of seats in the provincial legislatures of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.

 

Punjab 

Provisional results of the Punjab Assembly published by the ECP website showed the PML-N leading with 131 seats, followed by independent candidates with 126 seats. PPP holds 10 seats, while the PML-Q garnered 8.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 

PTI-backed independents secured 90 seats out of the 113 provincial seats in KP. JUI-F secured 7 seats, and PML-N bagged 5 seats. However, the remaining results of 9 seats are yet to be announced.

Sindh

The ECP released results for all 130 constituencies of the Sindh Assembly, indicating the PPP's lead with 84 seats. MQM-P won 28 seats, and independent candidates secured 14 seats. Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) each secured 2 seats in the Sindh Assembly.

Balochistan

The unofficial results from 44 of 51 seats in Balochistan showed the PPP leading with 11 seats, followed by PML-N with 9 and JUI with 8. Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) holds 4 seats, while Awami National Party (ANP) and National Party (NP) each have 2. Five independent candidates have also secured victories.

Counting for several key constituencies is still in progress after the polling officially closed on Thursday at 5 pm.

In the 12th general election, over 128 million people were registered to cast their ballots, electing representatives from among 28,626 candidates across 150 parties. These candidates competed for 1,085 general and reserved seats in the national and provincial assemblies across the country.
