The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced to boycott the today's National Assembly (NA) and Senate sessions to avoid participating in the voting on the Constitutional Amendment.
According to the official statement, the decision was made during a special meeting of the PTI political committee, which declared the amendment process to be "highly non-transparent and contentious."
According to the official statement from PTI’s political committee, the party will not allow any of its members to participate in the voting process.
It also warned that MNAs and Senators who defy party policy and vote in the sessions would face protests.
The PTI plans to hold sit-ins outside the homes of any party members who violate the decision made by Imran Khan and the political committee.
On Saturday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that party founder Imran Khan has directed the PTI to continue consultations with JUI-F head Maulana Fazlur Rehman regarding the proposed 26th constitutional amendment.
Addressing a press conference alongside other PTI leaders, Barrister Gohar stated, "We have discussed the amendments with Imran Khan, and he has advised us to keep the dialogue going, as this is a very delicate issue."
He said this following a meeting with the PTI founder, who is currently imprisoned in Adiala jail, to discuss the constitutional changes.
