The Senate on Friday rejected a resolution about the health of PTI founder Imran Khan, prompting strong protests from the opposition.
PTI Senator Aon Abbas Bappi submitted the resolution regarding the PTI founder’s health, which was opposed by the government. After the resolution was dismissed, PTI senators gathered in front of the Chairman’s dais, raising slogans and staging a protest.
Rana Sanaullah stated that the opposition leader wishes to discuss the PTI founder’s health, but if the matter is to be addressed today, why was a separate motion introduced? He added that the Supreme Court report has clarified the living conditions of the PTI founder in jail. According to Salman Safdar, the founder is satisfied with the security arrangements.
Sanaullah said that the jail doctor examines the PTI founder every other day, and external doctors have conducted 25 check-ups so far, adding that a Friend of the Court has also been appointed in the Supreme Court regarding his petition.
Opposition leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas said that sudden vision loss does not occur overnight. He claimed that the medical assessments conducted were not by specialists, and the founder’s lawyers and family were not informed. He said that politicians, unlike generals, bureaucrats, or judges, are the ones subjected to jail, highlighting alleged negligence regarding the PTI founder’s health.
