PTI claims Bushra Bibi was given acid-like substance in her food

Amidst reports of deteriorating health of the former prime minister Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, during her house arrest in Bani Gala, the Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf demanded immediate medical examination of the party founder’s spouse. 

Bushra Bibi was sentenced to 14 years in prison in the Toshakhana case. She is currently serving her sentence at Bani Gala, which has been declared a sub-jail by the authorities. 

Taking to ’X’, Bushra Bibi’s spokesperson and lawyer Mashal Yousufzai, revealed alarming details about her deteriorating health, stating, “Bushra Bibi has made a horrifying revelation today that she has been given something like acid in her food, which has caused her immense pain for the past five days.”

“She said it feels like her stomach is on fire, and she has severe sores in her mouth and throat, making it difficult for her to eat anything except dry toast dipped in tea or water. She was in severe agony,” Yousufzai added.

Yousufzai emphasised the severity of her condition, describing it as "a serious threat" to Bushra Bibi's life and urging immediate medical inspection.

The PTI's official account on 'X' expressed concern, blaming the authorities for Bushra Bibi's health issues.

The former ruling party condemned the alleged act, saying “the illegitimate fascist regime had stooped so low that it resorted to maliciously attacking Imran’s wife and denying her medical aid.”

"Make no mistake, it will not be long before the people responsible for these heinous acts will be brought to justice," PTI stated. 

Bushra Bibi's sister, Maryam Riaz Watto, highlighted that Bushra Bibi had no pre-existing health conditions when she was arrested. 

"Mrs. Bushra Imran Khan was very healthy when she submitted herself for arrest. She has no diseases like diabetes, hypertension, or anything else. Her fear is that she will be slowly made sick and then it will be announced that she died as she was sick and depressed," her post on X read.
