PTI supporter Sanam Javed received temporary relief on Monday as the Islamabad High Court permitted her to return home and instructed the federal capital police not to arrest her until Thursday.
A single-judge bench led by Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb cautioned Sanam to maintain silence, warning that any breach would lead to the revocation of the orders.
During the hearing of a petition filed by Sanam’s father, the judge directed the Islamabad police to submit records of the past year pertaining to Sanam.
Upon her arrival in court, escorted by the police, Sanam's lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, asserted that there were no complaints against his client.
When questioned by the judge about Sanam's custody, the lawyer clarified that she had been detained outside his office.
Sanam was rearrested on Sunday shortly after being discharged from a new case. Her husband, Attique Riaz, expressed their commitment to facing all legal challenges without violating the Constitution.
Earlier that day, the court had instructed the police to present Sanam in court by 5:30 PM and prohibited authorities from moving her out of Islamabad. The court also summoned the Islamabad inspector general of police and the director general of the FIA.
During the proceedings, Sanam’s lawyer argued that his client had been unlawfully arrested from his office, challenging the FIA's decision to discharge her, which was contested in the district and sessions court.
In his petition, Sanam's father sought her release, asserting that her detention was unlawful. The petition urged the court to halt any further action against Sanam and demanded details of the cases against her, naming the federal government, FIA, Islamabad IGP, and others as respondents, seeking a declaration of her detention or abduction as illegal.
