Senior lawyer and Deputy Secretary-General of PTI, Shaukat Mehmood Basra, has vehemently denied being behind the leak of a party's founder Imran Khan picture from the courtroom.

The snapshot captured Khan seated in a blue shirt, participating in the NAB law amendments case hearing via video-link, as displayed on a laptop screen.

Addressing the media outside the premises of the Supreme Court, Basra refuted any involvement in the dissemination of the image, alleging a targeted propaganda campaign against him.

Despite Basra's denial, the image was initially shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account earlier on Thursday.

Interestingly, while the Supreme Court typically livestreams hearings of cases with constitutional implications, including previous sessions of the NAB law amendment case, today's proceedings notably lacked such coverage.

Expressing his concerns, Basra questioned Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa about the absence of live broadcasting for this specific hearing.

This particular session held the potential to mark Imran Khan's first public appearance since his arrest in August of the previous year in connection with the Toshakhana case. It's worth noting that Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar had previously voiced reservations regarding the Supreme Court's directives in this regard.
