Punjab Assembly approves bill to increase MPAs’ salaries to Rs500,000

The Punjab Assembly has approved a bill that will raise the monthly salary of its members to Rs500,000, following a majority vote in favor of the measure.

Reports indicate that the bill, which will take effect on January 1, received strong backing from assembly members.

After the bill was passed, members celebrated the decision, exchanging congratulations with one another.

However, Opposition Leader Ahmed Khan Bhachar voiced concerns, questioning whether the bill is in compliance with the Parliamentary Rules Act of 1972.

In response, Speaker Malik Ahmed Khan assured that the bill fully adheres to the existing laws and praised the government for advancing the measure.
