Punjab's Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, unveiled the ambitious "Clinics on Wheels" project during a recent event held in Lahore.
In her address, CM Maryam highlighted the challenges faced by previous administrations, asserting that initiatives spearheaded by her and Shehbaz Sharif were obstructed by preceding governments, resulting in significant delays of up to three months for the current government to effectively organize and implement new policies.
Expressing Nawaz Sharif's enthusiasm for project inaugurations, she emphasized his enduring commitment to advancing public welfare. Regarding the "Clinics on Wheels" initiative, CM Maryam underscored its holistic approach, emphasizing that it transcends mere vehicular mobility, aiming instead to extend comprehensive healthcare services directly to the doorsteps of the masses.
Detailing the operational framework, CM Maryam outlined plans for the mobile clinics to operate in underserved areas for six days a week, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with a specific focus on providing essential maternal health services to pregnant women within ambulance facilities.
Furthermore, she pledged to bolster the healthcare workforce by increasing the number of doctors and paramedics, with a renewed commitment to prioritize recruitment from every district.
Highlighting the government's healthcare expansion efforts, CM Maryam announced the establishment of cardiology centers across eight districts, including Mianwali, Sialkot, Jehlum, and Layyah, to address prevalent cardiovascular health challenges.
