Punjab govt announces election holidays from Feb 6 to 9

LAHORE: Punjab caretaker chief minister Mohsin Naqvi Wednesday announced four-day election holidays in educational institutions in Punjab, including schools, colleges and universities across the province.

All private and public schools, colleges, and universities in Punjab will be closed from February 6 to February 9 for the general election scheduled to take place on February 8, 2024.

“Important Update: In view of the upcoming general elections on 8th February, Provincial Cabinet has approved that all public and private sector schools, colleges, and universities in Punjab will be closed from Feb 6th to Feb 9th. 9:30 am timing for schools will only be observed till 3rd February. Regular school timings will be observed later on,” wrote CM Punjab Mohsin Naqvi on his Twitter account.

A notification regarding the election holiday in Punjab starting February 6, will be issued by Punjab government soon.

It is to be noted that elections will be held on February 8.
