Three child scavengers among eight injured in Quetta trash heap blast

At least eight people, including three children, were injured in an explosion in Quetta on Wednesday.
According to the police, the blast occurred in a garbage dump under a flyover on Zarghoon Road.
Eight people were injured in the blast, they said, adding that three child scavengers were among them.
A traffic policeman performing duty nearby was also injured in the blast.
On getting information, rescue teams rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.
The police suggested that the explosion might have been caused by a locally made explosive device. Further investigation is underway.
Pakistan has been witnessing a surge in terror attacks in the past one year. August 2023, particularly, remained the deadly month with 99 attacks claiming 112 lives.
