Sindh declares July 29 public holiday for Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Urs

The Sindh government has declared a public holiday across the province on Wednesday, July 29, to mark the annual urs of Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.
According to a notification issued on Monday, the holiday will apply to all provincial government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations and local councils under the administrative control of the Sindh government.
The notification stated that essential services would remain exempt from the holiday.
The Sindh Information Department shared the notification on social media platform X.
The three-day annual urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai is observed every year from 14 Safar at the Sufi poet's shrine in Bhit Shah.
