The crescent of the holy month of Ramazan is expected to be sighted in Pakistan today (March 11) and the first Roza is likely on March 12 (tomorrow), The Pakistan Metrological Department said.
According to the Met Office, the fasting month's moon was expected to be born at 2pm Sunday and it could be sighted after 28 hours today.
A day earlier, the moon for the month of Ramazan was sighted in Saudi Arabia, as per the Kingdom authorities.
The Saudi Supreme Court announced that the crescent was spotted on Sunday (March 10) evening, the Khaleej Times reported.
However, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is set to meet in Peshawar today to see the crescent of Ramazan.
Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad will preside over the meeting, which will begin after Asr prayers in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa's capital.
The zonal committees will also sit together in their respective areas to receive and assess the moon sighting reports.
Muslims throughout Pakistan and the rest of the world observe the month of Ramazan annually.
During Ramazan, Muslims adhere to fasting from dawn till sunset, fostering a sense of community and empathy for the less fortunate through shared iftars.
