Prime Minister’s advisor and senior PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah warned that the sons of PTI founder Imran Khan will be arrested if they come to Pakistan and take part in what he called a “violent movement” for their father's release from prison.

In a strongly worded statement, Sanaullah said, “Imran Khan's sons hold British citizenship and don’t know anyone here. What’s the purpose of involving them in unlawful activities?”

He further stated that if the sons of the former prime minister arrive in Pakistan and participate in any violent agitation, they will be arrested, and “only the British embassy will be able to come and rescue them.”

Rana Sanaullah also dismissed PTI’s right to hold protests, saying the party has repeatedly resorted to violence in the past. “Given their track record, who would believe that PTI’s demonstrations will remain peaceful?” he said.

Criticising Imran Khan, Sanaullah said, “He has been protesting since 2011 and done little else. This is his entire political career.”

Addressing PTI’s planned protest on August 5, he said the party has failed to adopt a democratic approach. “The day PTI adopts a democratic attitude, the government will be willing to engage in dialogue with them.”

He further revealed that the government is well aware of PTI’s internal planning and discussions. “We know what’s being said in their secret meetings, some of which may be made public in the future,” he hinted.

Rana Sanaullah asserted that any protest movement would be ineffective. “PTI has no proper plan. If a few people come out, they will be detained. Those arrested will face consequences. Imran Khan is dreaming of a movement from jail, but even in KP, where we allowed them to mobilise, nothing significant happened,” he said.

“Should we allow 10,000 or 15,000 people to hold a country of 250 million hostage?” he questioned, adding that such attempts will not be tolerated.
