Islamabad: Federal Minister for Communications, Aleem Khan, has said Russia suspended Pakistan Post services over pending dues of Rs5.5 crores.
This he said while presenting a written reply in the National Assembly.
Khan stated that Russia has suspended the services of Pakistan Post due to unpaid dues.
According to the minister, the ban was imposed in August 2025 because Pakistan Post has not paid outstanding dues amounting to Rs55 mln since 2021. As of November 12, 2021, Pakistan Post owes over PKR 31 mln.
Aleem Khan added that the pending payments to Russian Post will be cleared once the Finance Division releases the necessary funds.
The ban has affected individuals, businesses, and academic institutions that depend on reliable international mail services, causing delays in correspondence and hindering communication between Pakistan and Russia.
