The Government of Sindh has announced a public holiday for all public and private educational institutions on Shab-e-Qadr, according to a notification issued by the School Education & Literacy Department.

As per the notification released on Wednesday, all schools across the province will remain closed on Friday, March 28 (27th Ramadan) in observance of the sacred night.

The decision was made during the Steering Committee on Education’s sub-committee meeting held on November 28, 2024.

Meanwhile, Eid ul Fitr is expected to begin on Monday, March 31.

The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has predicted that the Shawwal moon is likely to occur on March 29, with its sighting expected on March 30.

The federal government has also declared public holidays for Eid ul Fitr, granting a three-day break from Monday, March 31, to Wednesday, April 2, as per a notification issued by the Cabinet Division.
