Schools to remain closed tomorrow in Karachi's Central district amid heavy rainfall forecast

The deputy commissioner of Karachi's Central district has announced a public holiday in schools tomorrow amid heavy rainfall forecast.
In view of the ensuing heavy monsoon rains in Karachi Division, the District Administration Central Karachi on the advice of the School Education and Literacy Department, Government of Sindh, hereby announces Thursday, 29th August, as a public Holiday, the letter released from the DC Office stated.
Earlier in teh day, the Sindh government gave the authority to district deputy commissioners to close educational institutions during heavy rainfall, considering the difficulties faced by students and teachers in various parts of the province.
The Sindh Education Department issued a letter to all district deputy commissioners in the province. The letter states that in situations arising from rainfall, the deputy commissioners will have the authority to declare holidays in educational institutions.
According to the Education Department, deputy commissioners can make decisions regarding holidays in educational institutions on their own. They are authorized to declare holidays in the district after consulting with the Education Department.
