Tensions escalated on the night of May 6-7 as the Indian army reportedly launched attacks targeting civilian areas in Azad Kashmir, including Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and Bahawalpur, as well as Muridke and Ahmedpur Sharqia in Punjab. Two mosques were destroyed, while at least 31 Pakistani civilians, including two children, were martyred and 51 others injured.

In response, Pakistan retaliated with force, reportedly shooting down multiple Indian aircraft, including three Rafales, one MiG-29, one SU-30, and a combat drone.
