Speculation over PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s reported engagement has intensified following President Asif Ali Zardari’s private visit to Austria, but the party has rejected the claims as unfounded.

Unverified reports circulating online claim that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari may be preparing to marry into a prominent European family.

Some reports have linked the alleged relationship to Austria and Liechtenstein, a small landlocked country located between Switzerland and Austria.

The reports have also suggested that the wedding could take place later this year.

However, there has been no official confirmation from Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari or the PPP regarding an engagement or wedding.

Several social-media posts and reports have named Gloria von Habsburg as the woman Bilawal is allegedly set to marry.

She has been described in those reports as being associated with Austria’s former Habsburg royal family.

The claims, however, remain unverified, and her identity as Bilawal’s prospective bride has not been officially confirmed.

The rumours gained momentum after President Asif Ali Zardari travelled to Europe on a private visit, including Austria.

Some reports attempted to connect the visit with alleged discussions surrounding Bilawal’s reported marriage.

The PPP has dismissed the reports surrounding Bilawal’s alleged engagement and wedding.

Karachi Mayor and PPP leader Murtaza Wahab, who also serves as Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s spokesperson, rejected the claims, describing reports about the engagement or wedding as “incorrect and unfounded.”

For now, the reported marriage remains speculation, with no official announcement from Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, his family or the PPP confirming the identity of a prospective bride.
