A collision between a speeding trailer truck and an oil tanker on the famous Native Jetty Bridge in Karachi's Keamari area early Saturday morning led to a massive oil spill.

Thousands of liters of oil spilled onto the road, prompting residents to rush and collect the oil in drums. Several people were injured due to slipping on the slick road, despite warnings from authorities.

The track to Mauripur remained closed, causing significant traffic congestion on the bridge and the surrounding areas. Long queues of vehicles formed as traffic police struggled to manage the situation.

Authorities have taken custody of the trawler and oil tanker and launched an investigation into the accident.

The accident has paralysed traffic on the crucial highway for hours.
