The interim government of Sindh has declared a holiday in educational institutions on February 26 in observance of Shab-e-Barat.

According to a notification released by provincial authorities, all government and private educational institutions throughout Sindh will be closed on Monday, February 26.

This closure encompasses schools and colleges across the region, marking the occasion of Shab-e-Barat. Shab-e-Barat is an annual observance for Muslims in Pakistan and around the world. Often referred to as The Night of Fortune and Forgiveness, it occurs in the lead-up to the start of the holy month of Ramadan.

On this night, believers engage in religious practices, offering special prayers and nawafil in mosques.

These prayers are dedicated to seeking unity, prosperity, security, and peace in the country, as well as the prosperity and unity of the entire Muslim community.

Many consider Shab-e-Barat as a night of blessings and accountability, believing that it is when Allah determines judgments regarding the lives, deaths, bestowments, and blessings for the upcoming year. It is a significant occasion observed with reverence and devotion by Muslims worldwide.
