Karachi: Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori expressed strong concern over the increasing number of fatalities caused by dumpers and trucks in Karachi and announced direct intervention to address the issue.
During a press conference at the Governor House, Kamran Tessori highlighted a recent tragic incident where a two-year-old girl lost her life after being crushed by a dump truck.
He condemned the reckless operation of these vehicles, stating, "Day or night, these dumpers and trucks roam the streets of Karachi with impunity."
The governor warned, "If this issue isn't resolved, you will see this governor standing in front of dumpers and trucks to stop them."
Tessori emphasized that any illegal operation of dump trucks must be explained by the DIG Traffic, questioning why the laws are not enforced.
He pledged to take the matter to court, stating, "Are the children of this city orphaned, left to die like this? This will not continue any longer."
The governor also announced that December 24 will be celebrated as "Mohajir Culture Day" at the Governor House.
Tessori highlighted efforts to honor various cultures, including hosting events for Sindhi Ajrak Day three times at the Governor House.
He also praised the recent visit of Dr. Zakir Naik to Pakistan, where leaders from diverse religions and sects came together on a single platform to promote harmony and mutual respect.
Governor Tessori’s decisive stance aims to bring attention to public safety and foster cultural unity in Sindh.
