A sixth-grade student received an artificial arm on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, it emerged on Monday.
On April 15, Punjab's first woman CM visited Government Girls High School in Murree, where she met Saaniya Abbasi, who had lost her hand in childhood.
During the meeting, CM Maryam promised the female student to give her an artificial hand, which would help Saaniya in her daily life chores.
However, CM Punjab has fulfilled her promise by gifting the girl a bionic hand.
Expressing gratitude to CM Maryam, Saaniya revealed that her parents were not able to bear the expenses of her surgery.
“CM Maryam became shocked when she came to know my issue and promised me for my treatment,” the girl said in a statement shared by PML-N on X
“On the same day, I was contacted by the doctors’ team, and they visited our home,” Saaniya added.
Doctors joined a prosthetic hand with Saaniya's amputated arm, which could be moved as per her directions.
