Murad Ali Shah, the newly elected Chief Minister of Sindh, officially assumed office following his victory in the provincial chief executive election.

The oath-taking ceremony, held at the Governor's House, was presided over by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and attended by prominent officials and leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), including party head Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Outgoing Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar also graced the occasion with his presence.

Murad Ali Shah's re-election as CM Shah for a third consecutive term with a significant majority marks a historic moment.

The assembly session, chaired by Speaker Awais Qadir Shah, witnessed the election conducted through a division of the house. Murad secured 112 votes, while his competitor from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Ali Khursheedi, garnered 36 votes.

The speaker lauded Shah's victory as a significant milestone. However, lawmakers from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, who have aligned with the Sunni Ittehad Council, and the solitary MPA from Jamaat-e-Islami, abstained from the election process.

Addressing the Sindh Assembly on Monday, CM Shah pledged to expedite development initiatives across the province, emphasizing the establishment of the rule of law as the foremost priority of his new government.
