Tributes pour in for Major Adnan martyred while protecting comrades in Bannu operation

Pakistan Army’s Major Adnan Aslam embraced martyrdom after sustaining critical injuries while valiantly fighting terrorists and protecting his wounded comrade during a clearance operation in Bannu.

Serving in the 5th Commando Battalion of the Pakistan Army’s elite Special Service Group (SSG), Major Adnan displayed extraordinary courage, prioritising the safety of his fellows over his own life.

He was admitted to CMH Rawalpindi, where he remained under treatment for several days before succumbing to his injuries on Monday. He was struck by bullets in his hand and leg while providing cover to a wounded soldier. He managed to eliminate two terrorists.

Major Adnan is survived by his wife, a daughter, and a son. His funeral prayers will be offered at Chaklala Garrison.

Former director general of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Gen (retd) Asif Ghafoor, recalled his past interaction with Major Adnan, who had sought his advice before joining the SSG.

Major Adnan embraced Shahadat a few hours ago after being critically wounded during clearance operation in Bannu while saving his soldier from the khariji's fire few days back.
