An American woman staying in Karachi, whose visa has already expired, expressed her desire to make Pakistan her home as she awaits a reunion with her alleged online boyfriend.

Speaking to the media, Onijah Andrew Robinson clarified that she never sought marriage for financial reasons and revealed that she had already married her Karachi-based partner online.

"I am already married, but we don’t have kids," she added.

After a whirlwind online romance, Onijah traveled to Pakistan for her 19-year-old Karachi-based lover refused to return home despite her ticket and visa being arranged by Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori and philanthropist Zafar Abbas.

Stranded at Jinnah International Airport since October 11, the woman declined to board a flight to New York, according to airport sources.

The disappointed woman, heartbroken over her failed love life, was escorted to the plane under police security, but she kept attempting to avoid returning to the US by making excuses.

As per sources, she was taken to the departure lounge and then to the aircraft under the supervision of police and airport security. However, she refused to board the Qatar Airways flight connecting through Doha to New York.

As the plane took off, the woman's decision to stay behind raised eyebrows among airport officials. It remains unclear what prompted her to make this choice, but it was evident that she was determined to stay in Pakistan.

The woman had arrived in Pakistan in October on a month-long visa, but she was marooned at the airport after her boyfriend refused to marry her due to pressure from his family.

The police contacted the US Consulate to arrange her return, but they have yet to receive a response.

Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry is also looking into the case.

After failing to send her back, airport authorities shifted her to the airport's emergency clinic due to cold and flu.

The incident came to light late Sunday night when Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori noted a traumatised foreign woman at the airport, identified as Onijah Andrew Abson, 33.

She had flown from the US after falling in love with a 19-year-old Nidal Memon from Karachi's Garden East neighborhood.

Onijah, a mother of two, had revealed she had left everything behind, including divorcing her husband, to come to Pakistan for her boyfriend.  However, her arrival took a devastating turn when he abandoned her due to his family's disapproval of their age difference.
