Hundreds of thousands of people gathered to celebrate and welcome national hero Arshad Nadeem as his convoy made its way to his hometown of Mian Channu.
The atmosphere was electric, with people showering red roses and flowers over the convoy, expressing their immense pride and joy.
Arshad Nadeem, who recently made history by winning a gold medal and breaking the 119-year-old Olympic record in javelin throw with a remarkable distance of 92.97 meters, was greeted with overwhelming enthusiasm. His journey to Mian Channu began after a stop at Manga Mandi, where he had breakfast and offered Fajar prayers at the Raiwind Markaz of Tablighi Jamaat.
During his breakfast at a local hotel in Manga Mandi, Arshad was surrounded by hundreds of fans, all eager to catch a glimpse of their champion. The convoy, escorted by Punjab Police, Traffic Police, Elite Force, and National Highway Police, continued its journey towards Mian Channu, where even more supporters eagerly awaited his arrival.
As the convoy entered Mian Channu, the streets were lined with thousands of citizens who had gathered to give their ‘golden boy’ a hero’s welcome. Arshad Nadeem stepped out of his car to wave to the crowds, responding to their enthusiastic chants and slogans with a humble smile and wave.
The celebration began earlier in the day when Arshad Nadeem arrived in Lahore via Turkish Airlines. His plane was given a water salute by the Civil Aviation Authorities (CAA) at Allama Iqbal International Airport, marking the beginning of a day filled with celebrations for the entire nation.
The people of Punjab and Mian Channu, in particular, showed their love and admiration for Arshad by showering flowers on his convoy and raising slogans in his favor. The joyous reception in Mian Channu was a testament to the pride that Arshad Nadeem has brought to Pakistan, especially after his historic achievement on the global stage.
