Karachi was enveloped in thick fog on Wednesday night, affecting various areas of the port city. However, the fog dissipated with the rise of the sun.

Weather experts attributed the fog to high humidity levels and stagnant winds, which allowed fog to form and considerably reduced visibility in the early hours.

As the sun emerged, the fog gradually cleared and normal visibility was restored.

As per reports, the fog reduced visibility to 2.5 to 3 kilometers, with the airport area being the most affected.

Karachi is bracing for intense heat after the Eidul Fitr celebration, where temperature is expected to soar to 41°C on the third day of the festivities, while the Pakistan Meteorologist Department (PMD) has warned of a series of scorching days.
