The Sindh government will begin distributing free electric pink scooters among women and female students this week under its “Pink Scooters Program”.

The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Sindh Senior Minister and Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon. The meeting was attended by Secretary Transport Asad Zamin, Sindh Mass Transit Authority Managing Director Kanwal Bhutto, and other senior officials.

Speaking at the meeting, Memon said the initiative is aimed at easing women’s mobility, cutting down travel costs, and ensuring safer and more dignified transportation for students and working women.

“This is a revolutionary step that will save time and empower women who depend on public transport for education, employment, and other needs,” he said.

He added that the Sindh Mass Transit Authority is finalising the applicants’ data and scooters will be allotted on merit and need through a transparent process. “The government has devised a simple and fair procedure to ensure maximum women can benefit from this scheme,” he said.

Memon urged women to avail themselves of the opportunity, saying the initiative reflects the provincial government’s and Pakistan Peoples Party’s commitment to women’s empowerment and their full participation in education, the workforce, and social life.
