Google has introduced a new experimental feature in its Photos app that allows users to create memes using their own images.
The feature, called “Me Meme,” enables users to generate personalised memes by combining selected photo templates with their pictures.
According to Google, the tool allows users to choose a preset template or upload their own image, add a photo, and generate a meme directly within the Google Photos app. The company noted that the feature is still in the testing phase and the results may not always accurately match the original image.
The addition builds on Google Photos’ existing creative tools, which already allow users to transform images into cartoons, illustrations, or artistic styles.
These features are part of Google’s broader effort to expand creative options within the app and increase user engagement.
The launch of Me Meme also comes as personalised content creation continues to grow across digital platforms, with several apps offering tools that allow users to generate customised visual content.
At present, the Me Meme feature is available only to users in the United States and has not yet been rolled out globally.
Once fully released, users will be able to access the feature through the “Create” tab in the Google Photos app. Google has not announced a timeline for wider availability.
