Meta-owned WhatsApp has introduced a new feature for iOS users that enables them to send media files as documents, as reported by WaBetaInfo.
The feature, known as "send as a document," is set to be gradually rolled out to all users in the coming weeks. This functionality allows users to send photos and videos as documents while preserving the original file quality. iOS users can now send media directly without the need for multiple steps.
To utilize this feature, users can open the chat share sheet, select "Document," and then "Choose Photo or Video" to send files in their original quality.
According to the official changelog, the feature will become available to all users in the upcoming weeks, accessible to those who update their WhatsApp from the App Store.
In a recent update for the iOS version, WhatsApp introduced the ability for channel owners to invite new admins. This enhancement provides channel owners with advanced administrative control and improved delegation capabilities. Owners can assign administrative privileges to selected contacts, inviting up to 15 contacts to become admins.
However, the designated contacts must accept the invitation before gaining administrative access to the channel. Once accepted, new admins can modify crucial channel details such as name, icon, and description, as reported by the WhatsApp news tracker.
