Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif remarked on the changing political landscape, noting that PTI founder Imran Khan is now imprisoned in Adiala Jail, which falls under her administration.
Her statement highlighted the shift in circumstances and the control her government holds over the facility.
Maryam Nawaz warned that the country cannot afford further chaos and unrest, cautioning that a lack of progress could lead to disillusionment among the youth.
Speaking at a public event, she criticized the opposition for failing to accept Punjab’s progress, citing recent clashes between political figures as evidence of internal discord.
Maryam also emphasized the government’s Asaan Karobaar Programme, which offers interest-free loans ranging from Rs1 million to Rs30 million for business startups.

“These loans are granted purely on merit with no favouritism,” she stated. She highlighted that the country’s economic stability has improved under her administration, with inflation falling from 38% to 4%, and noted that 185,000 loan applications have been received, a move she believes will spur employment.
In a separate meeting, Pakistan Peoples Party President Nawaz Sharif and CM Maryam met with Punjab MPAs from Sahiwal, Khanewal, Multan, Lodhran, Vehari, and Bahawalnagar divisions.
During the discussions, public welfare projects and future political strategies were on the agenda.
Nawaz Sharif commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s efforts in achieving economic stability and critiqued the ‘change’ narrative, arguing that previous reforms had led to corruption and instability.
