The Pakistan Air Force successfully conducted the flight test of its indigenously developed “Taimoor” missile, on Saturday.
The ISPR said that the flight test marked a significant milestone in the country’s air defence capabilities.
According to the ISPR, the weapon system ‘Taimoor’ can engage land and sea targets with high precision at a range of up to 600 kilometers. The system is equipped with a state-of-the-art navigation and guidance system.
It is designed to fly at very low altitudes, enabling it to evade hostile air and missile defense systems.
The success of the testing of this new weapon system shows the technical maturity, innovation and self-reliance achieved by Pakistan’s defence industry.
Senior officers of the PAF, distinguished scientists and engineers witnessed the testing of ‘Taimoor’. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu congratulated the scientists, engineers and the entire PAF team on the success of flight test.
PM Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated the nation and the PAF on the successful test and referred to it as a major step towards enhancing the country’s defence strength.
The accomplishment is seen as a reflection of Pakistan’s focus on technological advancement in the defence sector and its commitment to strengthening national security.
The development of ‘Taimoor’ and similar weapon systems support Pakistan’s defence capabilities and enhance operational readiness given any hostile situation.
