Snapchat announced a redesign of its platform, named “Simple Snapchat” at its annual Partner Summit in Los Angeles.

The redesign reduces the number of main navigation tabs from five to three, making it easier for users to access key features.

The new tabs include Messaging and Stories, Camera, and a Reels-like Feed. The Messaging and Stories tab merges private messaging, Stories, and Snap Map functionalities, allowing for a more cohesive experience.

The Camera tab is designed for quick access to capturing and sharing photos and videos, streamlining the process for users who prioritize immediacy.

The third tab, resembling a Reels-style Feed, focuses on showcasing videos from creators, publishers, and media outlets.

By simplifying its interface and combining functionalities, Snapchat seeks to make the app more attractive to users while also improving monetization opportunities for creators through its revenue-sharing program.

The updated design is expected to roll out in the coming months.
