A resolution opposing the styling and designing of beards was submitted in the Punjab Assembly, urging the federal government to impose a ban on the practice and take strict action against violators.
The resolution was tabled by Rukhsana Kausar, a member of the Punjab Assembly representing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
According to the resolution, the beard is a sacred Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), and altering its natural form through styling or designing is considered a grave sin.
The resolution further asserts that such acts amount to disrespecting an important religious tradition.

Rukhsana Kausar stated in the resolution that individuals who engage in beard styling are mocking a revered Sunnah, and barbers who facilitate this practice are equally responsible.
The resolution calls upon the federal government to enact legislation prohibiting beard styling and to take punitive action against both customers and barbers involved in the practice.
The submission has sparked debate on the intersection of personal grooming, religious values, and individual freedoms in Pakistan.
