12-year-old student dies after allegedly being tortured by madrassah teacher

A 12-year-old madrassah student died after allegedly being tortured by his teacher in Lahore, police said on Saturday.

According to the police, the teacher, identified as Ghulam Rasool, subjected Ali Haider to torture, resulting in his death. The police reached the scene after receiving information about the incident and launched an investigation.

The boy's body has been shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

The police have registered a case against the suspect and are conducting raids to arrest him.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing, adding that further legal action will be taken in light of the post-mortem report and other evidence.
