During the corner meeting in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's (KP) Charsadda, Awami National Party (ANP) leader, Taimur Khan Khattak allegedly ordered his gunmen to open fire as the residence of his constituency asked hard-hitting questions him.
The video of the incident went viral on social media, which received flak from netizens.
As per the details, Khattak was addressing a corner meeting in Charsadda when a local criticised him for making fake promises.
"Awami National Party never make fake promises for their politics, if we come into power [...]," he stopped his speech in anger when an attendee interrupted, saying "He [Khattak] is telling lies to you.
Following this, Khattak, as seen in the video, ordered his guard Sanaullah to open fire.
According to details, two were injured when the ANP leader's gunmen opened fire, however, the public meeting wrapped up in chaos.
The injured, identified as Imdad Hussain and Shashti Gul, were shifted to the DHO hospital.
However, the ANP leader’s act triggered protests in the district and protesters demanding justice from the authorities.
On the other hand, Taimur Khattak, in his statement, said that the incident occurred during the party’s election campaign when his party workers were hoisting flags of ANP, and armed men from another party opened fire on them.
A day earlier, PML-N's Sheikh Rohail Asghar was filmed slapping his worker when the latter asked a question about sewerage issues.
