8-year-old girl raped in Lahore

In yet another incident of child sexual abuse, an 8-year-old girl was raped by an unknown man in Punjab's Lahore, it emerged on Thursday.

According to police, the harrowing incident occurred in the jurisdiction of the Sabzazar police station.

The minor victim, who hails from the Syedpur area in the provincial capital, left her house to play when the suspect kidnapped her.

The accused, whose identity was not revealed by the law enforcers, took the girl to a nearby area and committed the heinous crime.

However, the police team, upon getting information, reached the crime scene and took the culprit into custody.

A case was registered against the suspect on the complaint of the victim girl's father.
