In a tragic road accident, a speeding dumper truck ran over and killed a motorcyclist in Karachi's Kala Board area.

The victim was identified as Najeebullah, the only brother of three sisters and the sole breadwinner of his family.

Rashly-driven dumpers and water tankers have become a growing threat for Karachi residents. These heavy vehicles frequently violate traffic rules and roam the city’s roads at high speed, playing with citizens’ lives.

Rescue officials confirmed that Najeebullah died on the spot after the dumper struck his motorcycle. Eyewitnesses said the truck was moving at high speed, and after the accident, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled.

Police said efforts are underway to track down the driver. Authorities are trying to obtain CCTV footage from the area to help identify him.

Family members of the deceased told reporters that Najeebullah worked at an ice depot. He was unmarried and originally belonged to Pishin.

It is worth noting that more than 235 people have been killed this year in road accidents in Karach involving heavy vehicles. Traffic police’s poor monitoring and the reckless driving of heavy-vehicle operators are widely blamed for the rising death toll.
