In a shocking incident, district police officers were caught on camera misbehaving with a traffic cop in Karachi, it emerged on Friday.
The altercation occurred at the Teen Talwar area of the port city after the traffic cop stopped the son of a district police officer for violating traffic rules.
According to traffic police officials, the vehicle had a fancy number plate and black glasses.
However, the situation quickly escalated, with district police officers allegedly using harsh words against the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Salman Zafar.
A viral video on social media showed the district policemen misbehaving with the traffic cop.
The black uniformers alleged, in the video, that Zafar asked for a bribe of Rs100 over a violation of a fancy number plate.
Police officials informed that an investigation into the incident, which took place within the jurisdiction of Frere Town Police Station, is currently underway.
The behaviour exhibited by the district police officers has raised questions about the culture of impunity and the lack of respect for fellow law enforcement personnel.
