Dr. Akash's family calls off protest on Murtaza Wahab's assurance of justice

The family of Dr. Akash has called off its protest at Three Talwar following successful negotiations with Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab.

According to the family, the decision to end the demonstration was made after the mayor assured them that he would meet with the Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police and facilitate efforts to ensure justice in the case.

The family said they would announce their future course of action after meeting with the Sindh IG. For the time being, they have ended the protest at Teen Talwar.

Following the conclusion of the demonstration, Dr. Akash's body was taken back and transferred to the Chhipa morgue.

Doctor Akash was shot dead during a robbery bid near Teen Talwar in Karachi's Clifton area after withdrawing cash from a bank.

According to the police, the incident occurred within the limits of the Frere police station. The victim was identified as Dr Akash.

The police said that Dr Akash withdrew Rs5 million from a bank and was leaving in his Alto car when armed suspects intercepted him near the bank. The assailants allegedly snatched Rs2.5 million from him before fleeing the scene.

Bank security guards also opened fire on the fleeing suspects, but they managed to escape.
