Driver of ride-hailing company rapes woman passenger in Lahore

In yet another incident of sexual assault, a woman was allegedly raped by a driver working for a renowned ride-hailing company in Lahore, police confirmed on Friday.

According to police, the harrowing incident took place at the Sabazara area near Karachi Pully in the provincial capital.

A case was registered against the suspect driver on the complaint of the victim, the law enforcers informed.

In the First Information Report (FIR), the woman claimed that she, along with her friend, booked a ride from the online cab service to her house.

Upon reaching the destination, the suspect asked the victim to give him water as he was feeling thirsty, according to FIR.

When the woman and her friend entered the home, the suspect barged in and allegedly sexually assaulted the victim.

The suspect fled the scene after committing the heinous crime, the victim woman mentioned in the complaint.

The woman provided the details of the car owned by the suspect to police, who are conducting raids to arrest him.

A day earlier, a woman was gang-raped by two armed dacoits in front of her husband during a robbery in Sahiwal.
