A video circulating on social media showed that a dumper driver, who hit a car in Karachi’s Nazimabad No 1 area, attempted to escape the scene by running over the bystanders gathered at the spot.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night when a dumper rammed a Mehran car, injuring the car's driver.
As angry bystanders gathered and demanded the dumper driver to get out of his vehicle, he attempted to flee by running over them. .
Fortunately, no one was harmed in the incident; otherwise, the driver's actions would have resulted in serious injuries.
The problem of dumper accidents in Karachi continues to worsen despite public outrage and criticism from political parties. Citizens complain that heavy traffic operates in the city at unregulated hours and that rash drivers cause accidents.

Jamaat-e-Islami, MQM-Pakistan, Markazi Muslim League, Muhajir Qaumi Movement and other political parties had demanded that the government take strict notice of these incidents and take strict action.
Heavy traffic has reportedly claimed at least 100 lives in such mishaps over the past two months.
Karachi police arrested Mohajir Qaumi Movement (MQM-H) Chairman Afaq Ahmed on Tuesday following violent incidents in which citizens set dumper trucks on fire after multiple traffic accidents.
Police officials claim that his statement provoked individuals to attack and burn heavy vehicles operating during restricted hours.

The Dumper and Oil Tankers Association extended its special thanks to Inspector General Sindh Police Ghulam Nabi Memon and the Sindh government over the arrest of Mutahida Qaumi Movement Haqiqi (MQM) founder Afaq Ahmed.
In response to why heavy traffic runs in the city during the day, Mehsud clarified that the court did not impose a ban on heavy vehicles.
He emphasised that dumpers and trucks are essential for ongoing development projects in various areas of Karachi.
