Karachi: A man identified as Naveed, who was employed as a rider for a food delivery company, has been arrested from the Kharadar area for allegedly stealing a customer's motorcycle after completing a delivery.
According to SSP Arif Aslam Rao, the police have recovered two stolen motorcycles from the suspect.
The incident occurred on August 30, when Naveed, along with an accomplice, stole the motorcycle after delivering food. The arrest was made possible through the analysis of CCTV footage, which clearly showed the suspect in the act.
Further investigations have revealed that Naveed is a habitual offender. SSP Arif Aslam Rao stated that this is not the first time Naveed has been involved in criminal activities; he has previously been arrested five times and has served jail time for similar offenses.
The police are continuing their investigation to track down Naveed's accomplice and to determine if the suspect is involved in any other thefts in the area.
The recovery of the stolen motorcycles is seen as a significant breakthrough in curbing the rising trend of motorcycle thefts in the city, particularly those involving delivery riders.
