A food department clerk presented gold crowns to Pakistan People's Party candidates, contesting general elections, during a public rally in Khairpur's Daryadali area.
According to regional media outlets, a political meeting was organized in connection with the election campaign in the village Fateh Ali Lashari, where clerk of food department Akbar Lashari gifted gold crowns to PPP candidate Dr. Nafisa Shah, who is contesting election from NA-202, PPP candidates Halar Wasan and Manzoor.
After such pictures and videos went viral on social media, candidates and food department clerks are being criticized by the masses.
It is to be noted that the Election Commission of Pakistan has barred government servants from attending public rallies in connections with the upcoming general elections.
Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Maryam Nawaz was also gifted gold necklace during public rally in Punjab.
General elections are to be held on February 8 for which arrangements have been finalised.
