Four suspects arrested in 7-year-old girl's murder case

Police on Tuesday arrested four suspects in connection with the murder of a seven-year-old girl whose body was found inside a shop in Sargodha.

According to investigators, the main suspect is accused of attempting to sexually assault the child before killing her. The First Information Report (FIR) states that the crime was allegedly carried out at the instigation of three other suspects.

In a statement posted on X, Sargodha police said the arrests included the shop owner, where the girl's body was found, along with three other suspects linked to the case.

Police said teams from both the district police and the Crime Control Department (CCD) were examining every aspect of the investigation.

Although the official police statement mentioned four arrests, a police official said that a fifth suspect had also been detained.

Meanwhile, Civil Judge Imran Farooq approved a six-day physical remand of the main suspect, allowing CCD investigators additional time for questioning.

Officials said that preliminary DNA analysis had matched the prime suspect. The official further claimed that during interrogation, the suspect admitted to sexually assaulting the child and then killing her.
