PESHAWAR, August 10: The chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, has declared the protest march of PTI workers from Peshawar to Islamabad on September 27.

In his first exclusive television interview, Sohail Afridi said the march would not be just of a day or single location. He said details would be announced about a week before September 27.

Islamabad would be the destination but Rawalpindi and Adiala Jail could also be destinations in the course of the protest.

Sohail Afridi said the state machinery and government resources would not be employed during the march to Islamabad. PTI workers would join the march and resources of the party would be employed, he said.

KP chief minister said the date of the protest march was decided after consultations among PTI’s political leadership and Tehreek Tahafuz Aain Pakistan. He said Mahmood Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas were also consulted.

The first demand of the September 27 march would be release of the founding leader of PTI, Imran Khan, while second demand would be the permission for meeting of his family members, lawyers and personal doctor.
