Security agencies have completed the initial investigation into the suicide bombing that took place inside an imambargah in the Tarlai area.
According to sources, security officials and forensic teams have collected key evidence from the site.
Details including the timing of the blast and the number of people present at the time have been documented in the investigation report.
The report also includes figures for those killed and injured, with preliminary findings indicating that the explosion was a suicide attack.
The initial investigation report will be submitted to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who will then present it to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
It is worth noting that the blast occurred during Friday prayers at the imambargah, leaving 31 people dead and 169 injured so far.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif sees footprints of India and Afghanistan behind the recent terrorist attack in the federal capital.
The defence czar said the preliminary investigations confirmed the terrorist involved in the attack had travelled to Afghanistan multiple times.
“After suffering a humiliating defeat [last year in May], India is [now] waging war through proxies as it no longer has the courage to fight directly,” he added.
The minister vowed that the state would respond to this brutality with full force.
