A Jirga decided the fate of a young couple in the Manghopir area, leading to their deaths, according to police sources.
Police claim that the parents of both the husband and wife agreed to the murders. Initially, both families refused to file a murder case, sources reported.
The mother and maternal aunt of the deceased woman, Saira, played key roles in the dual murder. Sources indicate that Saira's mother and her sister entered the house and conversed for a long time before calling in the killers. The assailants then entered the house, shot the couple, and used knives in the brutal crime. Police recovered four spent 30 bore bullet casings, two coins, and other items from the crime scene.
The couple, who had married of their own free will, was found dead in their Manghopir home on Monday.
According to SSP West Hafeezur Rehman Bugti, the victims, identified as Adil and Sidra, were found with gunshot wounds. Preliminary investigations revealed that the couple had married a few months prior and were living in hiding.
SSP Bugti stated that the girl's family discovered their location, and her brothers allegedly opened fire on the couple, resulting in their deaths.
